On November 7, 2024, Mr. Zhidan Li, Managing Director of ALLPLUS (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Prof. Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT, formalized a partnership by signing two key agreements: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining a five-year academic and research collaboration for AIT students, and a Donation Agreement to establish a Student Graduation Prize Award. This award will recognize outstanding graduates from both the “Environmental Engineering and Management” and “Bio-Nano Material Science & Engineering” programs. Beginning in May 2025, two students will be honored annually for the next five years.
AIT President Prof. Pai-Chi Li, extended a warm welcome to the Managing Director, Mr. Zhidan Li and his team from ALLPLUS (Thailand) Co., Ltd., noting that this marks the beginning of a long-term partnership for academic and research collaborations. The MOU would open doors to further explore potential avenues of academic-industrial cooperation, strengthening the partnership and creating new opportunities for students and faculty alike. He further stated that the student prize award, set to span five years, would play a pivotal role in shaping AIT students into future leaders. He also looks forward to a mutually beneficial cooperation, where both AIT and ALLPLUS can work together to advance shared goals in innovation for sustainable development.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness the signing of these two agreements, as such agreements will provide AIT students with better access to the industry through internship programs and joint research projects, better preparing them for their careers upon graduation. Additionally, the establishment of two student awards will encourage students to work harder and achieve higher GPAs. Mr. Jayasinghe also extends his thanks to Dr. Wenchao for playing a key role in facilitating these agreements.
Mr. Daniel Ng, Senior Advisor of ALLPLUS (Thailand) Co., Ltd., acknowledged many shared interests and common objectives between the company and AIT, especially in the areas of Sustainable Transition and Green Technology. Additionally, the company is also interested joint research in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, as well as Bio-Nano Materials Science and Engineering. This is the company’s first long-term university partnership with a five-year collaboration plan. He also mentioned that the company already has in place an internship model, which lasts for four months with no binding commitment from students. The aim is to encourage students to take initiative, and if they choose to join the company after the internship, they are more than welcome.
Mr. Zhidan Li, Managing Director of ALLPLUS (Thailand) Co., Ltd., expressed his gratitude to AIT President Prof. Li and everyone involved for the warm welcome extended to the company. He conveyed his enthusiasm about formalizing this important partnership with AIT, emphasizing that the MOU and donation agreement represent the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their collaboration. Mr. Li expressed confidence that the MOU would lay the future foundation, including internships, joint research, job opportunities, and more. He concluded by expressing his eagerness to build a bright and successful future together.
It was discussed that the AIT Extension is fully prepared to support the ALLPLUS in terms of Professional Development, Executive and short-term training programs, workshops and is eager to explore further opportunities for expansion. In addition, it was proposed that ALLPLUS employees consider pursuing advanced studies, such as Professional Master’s or PhD programs, as the exposure to AIT’s diverse academic environment and the international community could open new doors for collaboration, innovation, and business expansion.
The meeting was attended by several individuals from both the company and AIT. From the company side, participants included Ms. Samerkae Sangdao, the Market Development Manager; Ms. Teeranun Neamhoe, the HR and Admin Manager; and Ms. Aksarapak Rattana, the R&D Chemist. From AIT side were: Prof. Sangam Shrestha, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology (SET) and Co-Director of GWSC; Dr. Wenchao Xue, Associate Professor in EEM & Director of AIT Belt and Road Research Center; Mr. Voravate Chonlasin, Executive Director of AIT Extension; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director of International Affairs, OIPA; Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, Senior Alumni Affairs Officer and Mr. Bhaskaran Jacob, Senior Advancement Officer from the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs; Ms. Tang Sai, Program Officer of the AIT Belt and Road Research Center.
